Stand
Ephesians 6:13 ……. Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Sometimes, when all the armour of God is in place, all we can do is to stand and the best we can do is to remain standing.
Having checked and cross-checked our every spiritual condition and having confessed and repented for every wrong thing found; after asking for forgiveness and been washed clean in the blood of Jesus, all that is left to do is to stand, not fall; stand, not run; stand, not attack, stand and remain standing.
As the spiritual forces of evil do their utmost to cause us to fall or run, our victory lies in us doing neither of these but in simply standing; standing in faith – standing not budging; standing stoically sinless and secure in the faith that God will rescue us not with His cavalry but with Calvary.
Jesus is our Victor, He not only fights but He wins our battles. As He stood in silence before Pilot in the midst of His accusers, He was destroying His enemy’s argument. As He stood in the locked room surrounded by His disciples after His resurrection, His wounds spoke of His victory over death.
As we stand, scarred and bruised in the aftermath of our battles, the Lord prepares a banquet for us in the presence of our enemies, He anoints us with His authority and, as we stand in victory, His life in abundance envelopes us with Love and Goodness (Psalm23:5)
As we stand in the full armour of God (Ephesians 6:14-18), we stand in the fullness of Christ. We shall not be overcome, rather we shall prevail and we shall win.
Thank you Lord Jesus, you are our Defender and our Victory. Amen
